VIVID Songlines: Working with Rhoda Roberts AO and the team at Artists in Motion, I was one of the Creative Leads responsible for developing key artist sequences for Songlines. The work brought together six Indigenous artists from different regions including Gulumbu Yunupingu, Reko Rennie and Gabriella Possum Nungurrayi, whose artworks I worked with closely to develop their projection sequences for the Sydney Opera House sails. We reinterpreted the individual artworks and brought them together as a unified visual journey, connecting distinct perspectives through the central idea of Songlines, Country, culture, memory and the pathways that link people across place and time.
As the first Indigenous work commissioned exclusively for the Opera House sails as part of Vivid Sydney, Songlines transformed the building into a powerful canvas for First Nations stories and artistic expression.
Badu Gili: Building on the success of Songlines, I also developed the creative for the first Badu Gili: Water Light, a nightly projection experience on the Bennelong Sails. Meaning “Water Light” in the language of the Gadigal people, the traditional custodians of Bennelong Point, the work brought together contemporary Indigenous artworks, music and storytelling.
